Asmir Begovic does not appear to be overly keen on the man who is reportedly set to replace him at Stamford Bridge.
Begovic joined AFC Bournemouth at the tail end of May, having served as Thibaut Courtois’ deputy for two seasons in SW6. That leaves Antonio Conte without a viable back-up option, as third-choice Eduardo did not play a minute of football in his debut season in England.
According to ESPN, the Premier League champions are set to secure the signature of Willy Caballero, who left Manchester City earlier this month after his contract came to an end.
Cabellero, on paper, would be a shrewd acquisition, and as ESPN report, we would not have to pay a penny to sign him.
However, it doesn’t look as though Begovic holds the same opinion, with the Bosnian ‘liking’ several of one Twitter user’s tweets, which suggest that Chelsea will be downgrading if Cabellero arrives.
Is Begovic salty that he was unable to oust Courtois for the number one spot? It seems extremely childish…
