Chelsea are confident of fending off competition to sign AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to the Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail report that Chelsea are leading the race to sign the Frenchman, but Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus are all also interested in securing his services.
According to the Daily Mail, Antonio Conte is a big fan of Bakayoko, and is keen to pair him with PFA and FWA Player of The Year N’Golo Kante. The tabloid note that his arrival could cast doubt over the futures of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas, who are both thought to be attracting interest from abroad.
Despite Fabregas’ masterful performance against Middlesbrough on Monday night, the prospect of a Bakayoko-Kante partnership at the heart of our midfield is an exciting thought. Only time will tell if we are able to sign the 22-year-old, but this is certainly one to keep an eye on as we approach the summer window.
