Tomas Kalas is close to leaving Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis, according to Team Talk.
Team Talk believe that Chelsea’s local rivals Fulham, who Kalas made 39 appearances for on-loan last campaign, were under the impression that they had a deal in place to sign the 24-year-old. However, it now looks as though they have been pipped to the post by a fellow Championship side.
As per Team Talk, Hull City entered the race, and new manager Leonid Slutsky’s close relationship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich helped make a deal materialise. Team Talk report that Kalas is now on the verge of joining the Tigers, with Chelsea receiving a fee in the region of £5M for the 6-cap Czech Republic international.
Kalas will join a long list of Chelsea youngsters who failed to reach their full potential, having showed plenty of promise in their early years. If he does, as Team Talk report, join Hull – we wish him all the best for the future.
