Chelsea midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas is set to reject a summer move to Serie A giants AC Milan, according to the London Evening Standard.
The Standard believe that the Premier League leaders are close to sealing a £40million deal to sign AS Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko, which could see Fabregas fall even further out of favour. However, it doesn’t appear as though the Spaniard will push for a move away from Stamford Bridge.
According to the Standard, AC Milan have placed Fabregas top of their wish-list for the summer transfer window, and are prepared to part with as much as £30million to secure his signature. Fabregas, however, is keen to remain in London.
Despite Fabregas not being a cornerstone in Antonio Conte’s side, he has still been a key asset for us this season. The 29-year-old has scored four goals and provided nine assists in just 1075 minutes of Premier League action this term – that’s a direct goal involvement every 83 minutes!
Fabregas still has plenty to offer, and it would be great to see him further etch his name into the Premier League hall of fame in a Chelsea shirt.
