Chelsea are interested in signing Lazio goal-machine Ciro Immobile, and could make a move in the upcoming transfer windows, according to The Sun.
Immobile made a name for himself in European football during his time at Torino, but failed to replicate the stellar performances he produced in Turin at either Borussia Dortmund or Sevilla. However, upon returning to Serie A with Lazio, he has been back to his brilliant best.
Last term the Italian found the back of the net 23 times in 36 Serie A appearances, and has scored 13 in 9 so far this term. His electric form appears to have captured the imagination of the Premier League champions.
As per The Sun, Chelsea are planning to serve Immobile to Antonio Conte on a silver platter in an attempt to paper over the cracks in their ‘broken’ relationship.
The Sun report that Roman Abramovich has given the green light to the move, which could materialise if Chelsea are prepared to offer more than £53M. Only time will tell if that’s a price we’re prepared to pay.
