Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham is on the verge of joining newly-promoted Newcastle on a season-long loan, according to the Daily Mail.
Abraham found the back of the net 26 times in his debut season as a professional, showcasing his supreme talent and eye for goal. His good performances in the Championship appear to have captured the attention of second-division champions Newcastle.
The Daily Mail believe that Newcastle are close to securing a deal that would see Abraham spend the 2017/18 campaign at St. James’ Park.
The Daily Mail report that Chelsea wanted to draft Abraham into Antonio Conte’s squad next term, but Rafa Benitez’s close relationship with our technical director Michael Emenalo has convinced the Blues to allow him to leave.
According to the Daily Mail, both Leicester City and Brighton were keen to secure Abraham’s services this summer, but it appears as though it will be Newcastle who will be victorious in the race to sign him.
