Antonio Rudiger may have some suspect moments defensively, but you could never question the German’s commitment to the cause.
As Chelsea chased a goal against Watford on Saturday afternoon, Rudiger, among others, found himself in a more advanced position. In this particular case, he was in the opposition penalty area when the Premier League champions lost possession.
Rudiger recognised the danger of leaving a gaping hole in Antonio Conte’s back-line, and subsequently busted a gut to get back into position. So late in the game, he found it within himself to run at full throttle because he knew his team needed him. This is what we love to see!
