Pep Guardiola has spoken out on Chelsea’s interest in Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, report the Metro.
Sky Sports reported earlier this week that the Premier League champions were plotting a shock swoop for Aguero this summer. The Blues’ interest in the Argentine was described as ‘serious and strong’ by Sky Sports.
This was, obviously, an exciting prospect for Chelsea fans. Aguero is one of the best strikers ever to grace the Premier League. However, it does not look as though Guardiola is prepared to part with him this summer.
The Metro quote Guardiola, who makes it abundantly clear that Aguero is not for sale, and will be a Man City player next season:
“You know my opinion on Sergio. I said many times last season and he’s our player. He will remain here.”
As Chelsea reported on their official website on Wednesday, an agreement has been reached to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid. For the deal to sign Morata to materialise so quickly, I believe us Chelsea fans can confidently drop the age old ‘we didn’t want him anyway’.
