Willian Willian

Stat proves just how good Willian was during Chelsea’s 6-0 annihilation of Qarabag

He may not have got on the scoresheet as Chelsea brushed aside Qarabag in a 6-0 victory, but Willian was absolutely exceptional for the Blues on Tuesday evening.

The Brazilian has enjoyed a brilliant start to the campaign and looks to be playing at the highest performance level since his arrival at Stamford Bridge. He carried on that fantastic run of form vs Azerbaijani minnows Qarabag, and was very much our man of the match.

All that his performance was lacking was a goal, but despite the 29-year-old firing blanks, there is one stat that affirms just how good he was during Chelsea’s 6-0 triumph.

As provided by Squawka’s @ReviewFootball, he completed seven ‘take-ons’ against Qarabag, more than any other player to play in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

He really is brilliant with the ball at his feet. If he had more of a cutting edge in front of goal, it would elevate his game to a whole new level.
