Petr Cech may well be an Arsenal player now, but his blood runs blue, he’s a Chelsea legend.
He was influential in the most successful period in the club’s history, he will always have a place in our hearts.
Cech was not only a world-class goalkeeper during his time at Stamford Bridge, he was also an exemplary professional – and a great man.
You may have heard in the past few days that former Tottenham Hostpur midfielder Ryan Mason was forced to retire from professional football a year on from fracturing his skull.
Mason was involved in a freak collision with Chelsea captain Gary Cahill, and the damage done was too severe for him to continue his playing career.

One man who has been through all that before is Cech, who suffered the same injury against Reading in 2006.
Mason has revealed that following the incident in January 2017, Cech offered him invaluable support, and is continuing to do so. This is brilliant to see!

Petr Cech – what a man.
This is indeed beautiful, quite emotional. May God see him through this challenge successfully.
