Chelsea are set to raid Arsenal again as Aaron Ramsey has emerged as a surprise name in the club’s transfer shortlist, The Mirror reports.
Ramsey has been part of yet another disappointing season for the Gunners with a place in the top four looking unlikely despite his team advancing to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
The Welsh midfielder is quoted by BT Sport, revealing that he hasn’t been given the chance to extend his contract that has just over a year left till expiring.
“Nothing to comment on at the moment, I think they’ve (Arsenal) been busy to tie up other contracts at the moment.”
Like Arsenal, the Blues have also had an underwhelming season along with uncertainty over who will be at the club next season.
The potential signing of Ramsey won’t bring a great deal of indication that we are ready to compete with the best clubs in football.
