Maurizio Sarri stamps his authority and drops Kepa Arrizabalaga vs. Tottenham

Maurizio Sarri has dropped goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in wake of their on-the-pitch field in the Carabao Cup at Wembley.

Kepa went down on the Wembley turf with what appeared to be cramp. Maurizio Sarri made his move and readied Willy Caballero to enter the action. His number was raised, but Kepa decided that he was okay to carry on, signalling to the bench that he was not going to leave the field.

Sarri was furious, with Kepa completely undermining him and embarrassing him in front of all who were tuned in. The Spain international has subsequently been fined a week’s wages, worth around £190K, but he has been served further punishment in being left out of tonight’s game.

Sarri has stamped his authority in the Chelsea dressing room. He is the boss, and all those who oppose his authority will feel his wrath. We get the feeling that players may think twice next time before locking-horns with the Italian. Their spots in the team could be in jeopardy.
