(Report): Italian giants Milan approach Chelsea’s Tomori

After Chelsea’s most recent victory in the FA Cup third-round, Frank Lampard spoke on a number of topics, including admitting Fikayo Tomori could leave the club this month. A move that would see Chelsea cut down their much-bloated squad and open new avenues for the player’s career development.

The 22-year-old centre back has been linked with a move on loan away from Chelsea for quite some time, with Leeds appearing as a possible destination. According to reports, an offer from West Ham United was turned down by the player. (football.london)

Italian giants AC Milan are said to have approached Chelsea over a January loan move for the centre-back, who is also said to be interested with the prospects of playing in Italy. Mohamed Simakan of Ligue 1 side Strasbourg remains Milan’s main target, with Tomori being considered only if a move for the French international falls through. (Fabrizio Romano)

Stefano Pioli looks to muster a solid defensive army as Milan charge for their first Serie A title since the 2010/11 season, hoping to break Juventus’ hegemony.

Lampard and Chelsea will be more than pleased to see Tomori develop at a top Italian side. He has played just once in the Premier League this season in a home loss against Liverpool on matchday two, a match which saw him appear for just 45 minutes.
