Mateo Kovacic put in yet another wonderful display of football by taking charge of the midfield against Sheffield United. The Blades fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of a resilient Chelsea side who could only muster one goal from open play at the death with a superb counterattack.

He also played a significant role in the Blues’ second goal which he took forward after Ziyech initiated the move. Kovacic dribbled a few yards before sending the ball to Chilwell, who earned an assist with a well lobbed ball for Ziyech’s goal.
Kovacic shone in midfield alongside youngster Billy Gilmour, who put in an amazing performance himself.
