The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has released the top ranked teams of the past decade among top European clubs & Spanish giants Barcelona have just seem to have narrowed out their great rivals Real Madrid to grab the top spot.
However, among the Premier League clubs, Chelsea have emerged as the best club in the English top flight in the last ten years, alongside rivals City – being the only team from England to have won the famed UEFA Champions League, other than Liverpool, who won the trophy in 2019.
Chelsea come 7th in the list, just behind Juventus and on par with Manchester City with 2113 points, who are 8th on the list, The last two clubs to complete the list are Manchester United & Arsenal in 9th and 10th place respectively.
Chelsea also won two Premier Leagues in a decade that saw Manchester City emerge as one of Europe’s best clubs. 2 FA Cups, 1 EFL Cup and 2 UEFA Europa League titles were also clinched by the men in Blue.
The competitions to have eluded Chelsea in these ten years is the UEFA Super Cup & Community Shield.
The surprise name high on the list are French champions PSG who sit in 4th spot, behind Bayern Munich and just ahead of two-time Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea however, have emerged as a European powerhouse, thanks to stunning performances on both the domestic and continental stage.
