For the purpose of balance, I’ll begin by admitting that for me the jury is still out on whether Tammy Abraham has enough to be our main guy up top and lead our line as the regular, and I still believe Chelsea need to sign a new striker as priority this summer.
However, right now, Tammy Abraham needs to be recalled to the squad and not only that, to the starting line up.

I find it very odd how he has been left out altogether, being our top goal scorer last season, and again so far this season.
Timo Werner is misfiring and short on confidence, how long can we keep affording to stick with him? Of course, I’m not saying give up on him and don’t play him again. I’m saying take him out of the line of fire right now for a few games, and ease him back in gradually in the hope he can regain his confidence slowly and under the radar, without so much pressure.
Abraham has proven that he can score goals at the very least, he has proven he has the right mentality to play for Chelsea and fight for every ball, he has proven that he loves the club and will leave everything out on the pitch.
After such a heavy defeat to a poor team at the weekend, now is a perfect time to reintroduce Abraham and tell him ‘prove me wrong’ and let him show what he can do.
I think he has been rather inconsistent over the last couple of years and he has things he can improve on. However, right now I think he is our best option to lead our line to keep us getting the results at a pinnacle end to the season where we are fighting hard for trophies.
