Things have gone pretty quiet on the Chelsea news front right now, apart from transfer rumours.
But there are still big things brewing behind the scenes, and Matt Law has just dropped a long piece with a vital update on the ownership battle which goes on behind the scenes.
Boehly and Eghbali prepare to for crucial moment

He points out that, while attention has been focused on the rollercoaster events on the pitch and in the press room over the last four years, a more significant change is closing in.
Todd Boehly is coming to the end of his five year stint as chairman of the ownership group. In May 2027, it will be Clearlake’s turn to appoint someone – potentially Behdad Eghbali.
What does this mean for the team? Law says it could be a “catalyst for decisions to be made regarding the future of Chelsea’s ownership.”
What’s implied there is we could see the battle come to a head – would Boehly and his side of the group sell to Eghbali and Clearlake? Could it happen the other way around? Could they all agree to sell together?
Everything is on the table, and we expect this story to come into the headlines more and more as we enter the final months of Boehly’s time at the top.
