Chelsea aren’t making any concrete moves to sign new players so far this summer – but we do already have a few new arrivals already on the way.
Among them is Geovany Quenda, a deal for whom was agreed with Sporting CP more than a year ago. After an injury affected season, he’s now preparing to get stuck in with his new club.
Quenda beefs up for Premier League bow

Liam Twomey’s piece for the Athletic today covers what Quenda has been up to in preparation for this big move. The metatarsal injury that’s limited him since the turn of the year has allowed him more time to do settling in off the pitch – finding somewhere to live in London and getting used to his new training surroundings at Cobham.
There’s been plenty of hard work too – Twomey says Quenda “embarked on a rigorous programme of nutrition and muscle development” to bulk up for the Premier League.
It really is notable – take a look at photos of the youngster in recent Portugal U21 games and he looks notably bigger than the skinny kid we signed a year ago.
In other news…
Jimmy Jay Morgan is being linked with a permanent move to the Championship after a successful season in League One on loan with Peterborough.
Roberto Di Matteo had his say on the Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid deal – and his thoughts will mirror those of quite a few other Blues fans at this stage of the summer.
