The Aston Villa attacking midfielder is a Premier League star made in the Man City academy – so you can be sure Chelsea’s sporting directors want him.
Phillips says sources tell him we’re “obsessed” with Rogers and have been working on a deal for “ages.”
Rogers, for his part, would prefer to join Arsenal, and is waiting to see which teams actually push to sign him.
We can all see Rogers’ talent. But despite some amazing highlight reel moments he actually had a pretty poor second half of the season according to a lot of Villa fans. That doesn’t mean he would be a bad signing, but it does put us off spending the £100m or more it would take to sign him.
