7 Countries where Chelsea have a supporters’ club you probably didn’t know about

Founded in 1905, Chelsea Football Club has dominated the football scene for over a century, constantly securing their place at the high end of the Premier League table. Commonly referred to as The Blues or The Pensioners, the team boasts a list of impressive credentials, including six league cups, seven FA cups, as well as finding success in Europe and becoming the only British team to win all three major UEFA trophies.

While Chelsea have millions of adoring British fans who flock to Stamford Bridge to see the team play, the Blues also have a global fan base that totals over 135 million. No matter where you go in the world, you will be surprised at how many Chelsea fans you encounter. So, here are seven countries that have their own supporters’ club which you may not even know about:

Egypt

Egypt is not only known as one of the oldest ancient civilisations on the planet, but the country is also home to thousands of Chelsea fans. There are supporter clubs in numerous locations, including Cairo, New Cairo, Zagazig, and Tanta. Many of the locals meet up at least once each month to watch Chelsea games together. And with over 1,500 followers on Instagram and 3,000 likes on the supporter’s club Facebook page, the follower count is only expected to grow going forward.

Ghana

Ghana is known as one of the most peaceful countries on earth and has a rich history, fantastic music and food, and cultural diversity. However, what you may not realise is how many Chelsea fans there are dotted across the country. At present, there are seven supporter clubs in locations like Accra, Kumasi, Tema, and Shama. There are also social media pages for Ghana Chelsea FC fans where you can connect with others and keep up to date with the latest goings-on. 

Chile

Chile is best known as an adventure tourism destination, attracting over 6 million international tourists every year. While the country has a population of 18 million, thousands of locals are huge football fans and regard Chelsea as their club. Whether you live in Santiago or other parts of the country, the non-profit group is designed to support Chelsea from the other side of the world. 

Cuba

Renowned for its untouched culture, friendly locals, music, and tasty food, Cuba also houses thousands of Chelsea fans. If you’re a Havana resident or visiting the capital city, there is an official Chelsea supporters club that you can be part of. While the club was only founded in 2019, there has been a steady increase in followers over the past year. 

Romania

Romania is a European country that is home to breathtaking nature, spectacular wildlife, natural wonders, and you guessed it, lots of Chelsea fans. Whether you’re in Bucharest or Banat, you can be confident that you’re not too far away from a fellow blue. Both supporter clubs are always on the lookout for fellow Chelsea fans to watch games with. So, if you live in Romania and want to meet likeminded individuals, becoming a member is easy.

Malta

Malta is a cultural hub that boasts more than 300 days of sunshine each year, making it an appealing destination for millions of tourists. With a population of just under 500,000, Malta is also home to many Chelsea football club fanatics. As it stands, there are currently between 150 and 200 members of Malta’s supporter’s club. So, if you would like to join in on the fun and watch games together, you will need to become a fan club member first. 

New Zealand

Famous for its sublime landscapes, world-famous vineyards, and adventure activities, New Zealand is also home to lots of Chelsea fans. Alongside their official supporter’s club, many Kiwis go here and play casino games for some fun-filled entertainment. There is a Facebook page that you can join which allows you to connect with fellow fans.
