It’s the international break, so a good time to entertain yourself with some betting while you’re waiting Chelsea to return to action.
Fast online casino withdrawals to UK cards would allow you to pocket some money from roulette or blackjack quickly – but you could also look for some fun betting on longer term questions, like where Chelsea will finish this season.
Right now the Blues are sitting pretty in second place in the Premier League table.
But it’s very early days – just 3 games have been played, and Chelsea have yet to play any of last season’s top 10. They have harder matches to come before the October international break, and we will get a much better idea of their true level through the next few weeks.
Not only do they have to face Man U and Liverpool in the league, they also get rolling in the Champions League. Benfica and Bayern Munich are important games in their own right to get our European adventure off to a good start, but they also will tell us a lot about how prepared this squad is for playing twice a week.
Some really promising transfers were made in the summer to upgrade the squad, but injuries are already slashing numbers. Levi Colwill will miss the whole season, and Liam Delap and Dario Essugo have been added to the injury list in the last week. Cole Palmer’s status is unknown, but it’s really not looking great for him either as he continues to be afflicted by a persistent groin problem.
To be missing so many important players this early in the season is not promising – we’ve not even got started on the intense part of the schedule yet!
Manager Enzo Maresca made use of the Conference League last season to rotate his full XI in most games. He won’t have that luxury in the Champions League. He will have to mix and match far more in terms of rotation, trying to win on Tuesdays and Wednesdays then go again on Sundays.
So if you’re looking to have a bet on Chelsea’s season, you might want to wait a month to get a better idea of how the Blues are looking. Equally, if you think they’re in a bit of a false position because of the fixtures, and that the injuries and fatigue are soon going to set in and hurt them, maybe you’d even bet against them before the odds shift…
But you wouldn’t do that, would you?
