Chelsea fans, we are officially in the era of Tottenham beating us. You were unfortunate enough to be born in this period, sorry for that.
Facing Spurs used to be an easy three points or a straightforward route into the next round. Though this is the best Tottenham side there has been in the Premier League era, there’s no excuse for how toothless we have been in our past three clashes with them.
Chelsea were the better team tonight, but offered nothing in the final third. It’s the same old story, and this time it’s led to a third consecutive defeat against our arch-rivals. That hasn’t happened for 56-years.

This tie is very much alive, but Chelsea will have to do a lot more in front of goal in the second-leg to book a trip back to Wembley for the Carabao Cup final. It has never been clearer – we need to sign a striker, and fast.
