Two players have been ruled out of Chelsea’s Europa League clash with BATE on Thursday night, Physio Room report.
You’d like to think that this should be a straightforward win for the Blues in our quest to maintain our 100% record in the competition this season. The quality that BATE possess is not near the level that could pull off at upset at Stamford Bridge… or so you’d think.
Maurizio Sarri will be feeling confident ahead of this one, and may well use the game as another opportunity to rotate his team in order to avoid fatigue.
There are two players that will play no part in the game, though. They are Eden Hazard and Ethan Ampadu. Hazard suffered a back injury against Manchester United, while Ampadu returned from international duty with a knee injury.
Hazard will likely have been left out of the starting eleven anyway, but this game would have provided Ampadu with an opportunity to show Sarri what he can do. It’s a shame.
