We’re delighted to bring you the most bizarre and unexpected Chelsea related story you’re likely to see this summer – and that’s saying something.
Forget Cristiano Ronaldo’s proposed move to Juventus pushing Gonzalo Higuain towards Stamford Bridge, we saw that one coming a mile off.
According to Portuguese publication Diario de Noticias, Eduardo, who was released by Chelsea following the expiration of his contract, will sign a contract extension.
That’s nonsensical enough in itself. He didn’t make a single appearance for the club last season in any competition.
However, after signing a new contract with the club, Eduardo will be loaned to Chelsea’s partner club Vitesse Arnhem for the 2018/19 campaign.
We’re not really sure what we have to benefit from this, if anything. It’s incredibly weird.
Eduardo’s contract will expire for a second time before his next opportunity to make his debut for the Blues. We’ve never seen anything like it. Chelsea continue to baffle us.
