Chelsea manager Antonio Conte believes that N’Golo Kante will be back for next Tuesday’s match against Roma, the Metro reports.
Kante hasn’t played for the Blues since the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City as he picked up a hamstring injury on international duty with France.
The absence of the French midfielder has been a big blow to Chelsea since. The player missed the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace and the thrilling 3-3 draw with Roma, as the team’s performances weren’t good enough.
As per the Metro, Conte gave us more detail of Kante’s injury in a press conference this afternoon.
“N’Golo is still not ready, we have to wait. I hope to have him back for the Roma game.”
A Kante-less Chelsea play Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday where points can’t afford to be dropped.
However, having the 26-year-old back for the trip to Rome will be a big boost for Conte.
Kante will be important in ensuring we top our Champions League group and put pressure on the teams above us in the league.
