There been some very good news on the contract front.
In recent weeks and months there has been a major question mark over Thibaut Courtois’ long-term future as a Chelsea player. The Belgian has just 18 months left to run on his contract, and especially after the situation with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil at Arsenal, the Blues will undoubtedly be keen to extend that as soon as possible.
Well, don’t fear Chelsea fans, this report from the Mirror ought to put your mind at ease. The tabloid claim that the Premier League champions are optimistic that Courtois will put pen-to-paper on a new five-year deal.

The Mirror report that La Liga heavyweights are interested in signing Courtois, presumably as a long-term successor to Keylor Navas, but Chelsea believe that they can convince their lanky Belgian to snub Los Blancos and remain in SW6.
Let’s hope we get this sorted sooner rather than later. As with Courtois’ compatriot Eden Hazard, the longer this contract saga drags on, the more confident any potential suitors will become of poaching them from Stamford Bridge.
