Chelsea have rubbished rumours that the relationship between Antonio Conte and Roman Abramovich has deteriorated, as per The Sun.
There has been a grey cloud hovering over Stamford Bridge ever since the Blues lifted the Premier League title in May. After failure after failure in the summer transfer window, Conte has been left looking a frustrated figure on the sidelines, and the performances on the field have not helped his cause.
The Sun report that there were claims Conte and Abramovich are no longer on talking terms and he has accepted that his Chelsea career will come to an end at the end of the season. However, the tabloid note that a source at the club has dismissed that claim.
From a Chelsea fan’s perspective, it would be handy if the speculation surrounding Conte’s future could be brought to a swift end so that he could future on the task at hand. He’s one of the best managers in the world, and we ought to keep hold of him.
