Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has issued a rallying cry to his former teammates ahead of today’s Carabao Cup final.
Fabregas won this competition at Chelsea under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho back in the 2014/15 campaign. Our manager at the time continually grabbed cup finals by the scruff of their neck and swung them in his team’s favour. We could do with that today.
Another thing we need today if we are to be triumphant is for the natural leaders to come to the fore. The only problem is, there’s not many of them among the current crop of players, especially following the departure of Cesc Fabregas back in January.
Fabregas may not be cheering Chelsea on from afar, but he’s still taken his chance to wish his teammates well and spur them on ahead of today’s game. The Monaco midfield mastermind sent out the below tweet. We miss you, Cesc!
