Chelsea’s recovery schedule ahead of our clash with West Ham United on Sunday afternoon has taken an unwanted setback.
The Blues were already against the clock after travelling to Greece to face PAOK on Thursday night and having to get back in shape to visit the Hammers on Sunday afternoon.
However, things have gone from bad to worse. ESPN reporter Liam Twomey has revealed on Twitter that Chelsea’s return trip to England has been delayed considerably.
Sarri won’t be happy – Chelsea’s return from Greece has been delayed. Scheduled flight last night cancelled after weather warnings. They’ll be back later today, but even less recovery time… #cfc

Chelsea will now return home on Friday afternoon and will have even less time to recover ahead of the West Ham clash. That’s the unfortunate reality of travelling to the furthest corners of Europe while competing in the Europa League.
The only positive from this whole situation is that Eden Hazard hasn’t been affected. Our talisman didn’t travel to Greece and has been tucked up in bed in the UK. He’ll be raring to go on Sunday!
