Chelsea legend could be in race to become Blues technical director

Frank Lampard does not appear to be the only Chelsea legend interested in replacing Michael Emenalo as the club’s technical director.

According to the Express, the man who captained the Blues to victory in Munich back in 2012 is on the club’s shortlist to replace Emenalo. For the full story on that eyebrow-raising report, click here.

However, Lampard is not the only member of that famous side to be in the running to fill Emenalo’s shoes. As per the Guardian, Didier Drogba is keen to become technical director at the club at some point.

The Guardian do note, however, that is is unclear whether the Ivorian would be willing to quit his footballing career now in order to take up the position at Stamford Bridge.

From a fan’s perspective, it’d be great to have Drogba back where he belongs in SW6 – but does he have any of the relevant qualifications? Only time could tell if that would be a logical appointment.
