Former Tottenham and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes Ruben Loftus-Cheek must put in eye-catching performances on a consistent basis, Sky Sports reports.
Loftus-Cheek has earned high praise from the English media over his performance in the friendly against Germany on Friday.
When speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp insists the player must string together a collection of great performances to make an impression on Chelsea.
Redknapp is quoted by Sky Sports saying:
“There’s no point in doing it in flashes, now he’s got to show us he is the real deal and show everybody at Chelsea ‘why are you letting me go on loan? I should be in your first team.'”
Competition in Blues’ midfield is hard for Loftus-Cheek

The summer signings of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater had a negative impact on Loftus-Cheek’s chances with us this season.
Cesc Fabregas and N’Golo Kante’s presence also puts pressure on Loftus-Cheek being part of our squad next season.
Anything is possible and if Loftus-Cheek can consistently produce good displays with a professional attitude, the club will take notice.
The player should use the aim of getting into England’s team for the World Cup as a statement to Chelsea.
