Alvaro Morata can write his name in Chelsea folk law in the Champions League clash with Barcelona on Wednesday, according to Frank Lampard when writing for The Standard.
Morata has been off the pace in the last few months having not scored for the club since the 2-0 win against Brighton on Boxing Day.
After a monthly absence with a back injury, the Spaniard has failed to replicate the form he showed at the start of the season.
However, when quoted by The Standard, Chelsea legend Lampard insists that Morata can turn around these poor performances by producing the goods against Barcelona.
“Morata has a great chance in Barcelona on Wednesday night to put his recent struggles behind him and be lauded by Chelsea fans forever.”

Chelsea’s history away to Barcelona has been full of highs and lows. Most recently, we managed to get the better of the Catalans in their backyard.
In 2012, Fernando Torres’ last minute goal secured a place in the European Cup final as we went on to lift the trophy. When being quoted by The Standard, Lampard adds that Morata can replicate his compatriot’s success at Barca’s stadium.
“Morata has been going through a difficult time, but he just needs to look at Fernando Torres for inspiration to do something special at Camp Nou.”
