Maurizio Sarri has admitted that he would like Chelsea to sign a new centre-back this summer.
Sarri is currently holding his first press conference as Chelsea manager. He has already admitted that he has encountered preparation issues.
The Italian did not plan ahead of his appointment as Chelsea manager. His work begun when the deal got across the line.
Now Sarri has been able to take some time to assess his squad, he appears to have identified a weakness.
That is, as he revealed during his presser, at centre-back.
Sarri hints at Rugani: “I spoke with the football club and said ideally I think that a pinch of quality is lacking in our centre-backs for a certain kind of play, otherwise they are at a very high level.” #cfc

Chelsea are stacked at the back, but none of the defenders that Sarri has at his disposal are as good with their feet as he would like.
Juventus’ Daniele Rugani has been continually linked with a £45M move to Chelsea in recent weeks. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this be completed in the coming weeks.
What do you think, Blues? Do Chelsea really need another centre-back?
It will be ideal for board to give the manager his requirement to enable him win trophies for the club.
Absolutely yes!
