Michy Batshuayi has taken to Instagram to wave goodbye to former teammate Diego Costa.
Chelsea announced on their official website on Thursday afternoon that the club had agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Costa, subject to the agreement of personal terms and passing of a medical. It’s hard to foresee either of those being problematic.
Batshuayi spent one year playing as Costa’s deputy, and appears to have enjoyed the time the pair spent together. That’s despite Costa’s brilliance keeping Batshuayi on the substitutes bench for the majority of the previous campaign.
The Belgium international has taken to Instagram to wave goodbye to ‘Crazy Diego’ and thank him for the support he gave him upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
You may recall Batshuayi’s Chelsea debut when he assisted Costa for the winning goal against West Ham. It’s a shame that we never saw more of that link-up play between the two great strikers.
Having a successful life is not dependent on getting stock in a single place, but making journeys. We appreciate your effort during your stay @ a great club as Chelsea, we wish you a great success back. #goodluckman.
