Chelsea take on Newcastle United at St. James’ Park tomorrow afternoon, with Maurizio Sarri looking to maintain his 100% record in the Premier League.
Oftentimes when we write these injury reports prior to games, they’re pretty lengthy. We ordinarily have two, three, maybe four players sidelined.
No longer.
It is very early on in the season, fatigue hasn’t had a chance to set in yet, but we can also credit Sarri’s more relaxed training regime for the lack of injuries.
The only player who is set to miss out tomorrow is Cesc Fabregas. Physio Room report that Fabregas’ mystery knee injury leaves him as a ‘major doubt’ to feature.
Sarri confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Mateo Kovacic is now ready to start for us, so Fabregas’ absence is no disaster.
The games will soon be coming thick and fast, though. Fabregas needs to get fit and available as soon as possible!
