'Not good enough' - Chelsea fans react to Ben Chilwell's underwhelming display against Leeds United

As Tuchel succumbed to his third stalemate with a draw at Elland Road – after similar results against Wolves and Manchester United – it was a mixed performance by the lads in Blue.

The German tactician opted to deploy a back four instead of three in a 4-3-3 formation that saw Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen and Chilwell take charge.

Chelsea’s defensive structure wasn’t at the best of its abilities, as we witnessed a back three fair much better in previous matches.

The second half saw Chelsea go close to conceding from Rodrigo’s free header and Raphinha’s 56^th minute shot.

One man the Chelsea fans were disappointed with, was left-back Ben Chilwell. His performance was comparatively underwhelming when compared to his compatriots. Thomas Tuchel even made his thoughts known by yelling Chilwell to ‘be more serious’ during the match.

Chilwell recorded a disappointing 45 passes with 66.7% passing accuracy, the lowest among the back four. He also made 3 tackles in total and the least number of clearances (1) throughout the match.

Surprisingly he made the highest number of interceptions (4) among his defensive mates. (whoscored.com)

Offensively, he wasn’t in the best of forms either.

He doesn’t even look to see who is crossing to he just plays it in even when he has time and he doesn’t play forward passes like other left backs,always comes in and then plays it back to the CB or sometimes gets passed his marker and then still plays it back
