Ross Barkley has offered some much needed clarification on what happened on deadline day.
The Guardian reported at the time that Chelsea had agreed a £35M fee with Everton to sign Barkley, with the Toffees claiming that Barkley had undergone a medical with the Blues before changing his mind and pulling out of the deal at the final moment. Thankfully for Antonio Conte, he was able to get the signing of Danny Drinkwater over the line before the deadline.
Understandably, us Chelsea fans were not too happy with Barkley after feeling as though he had messed us around and wasted our time with just hours remaining in the transfer window. However, the England international has taken to his Twitter page to claim that he never underwent a medical at Cobham.
Contrary to a number of reports in the press, I did not undertake a medical with any club at any point.

Barkley went on to clarify that he did not feel it was the right time to decide his future while he continued to recover from his hamstring injury, which makes sense.
I simply decided that due to my injury, it would be best to make a decision on my future and assess all my options in January when fully fit

I would have thought it the ideal time he must feel like a leper at Everton now poor work from him and agent
