The favourites to be Chelsea’s summer transfers

Chelsea’s summer is only just getting underway, and there’s a sense that there’s a lot more business to come. There’s money to be made by following the news closely and backing players who you think are coming to Stamford Bridge.

Just as the transfer window brings excitement and uncertainty for Chelsea fans, these safe and reputable new online casinos are emerging with fresh opportunities and thrilling games for enthusiasts. If you were going down to your local casino to put some money on who the Blues might sign next, where would you put it?

Goalkeeper

This feels like an area that Chelsea are very keen to improve, despite the fact that they bought two goalkeepers last summer and one the summer before that.

Gabriel Slonina went off on loan this year and hasn’t done much to show he deserves a first team spot. Robert Sanchez was pretty disappointing, showed little ability to play with his feet and was eventually dropped.

His replacement Djordje Petrovic was a step up in terms of performances, but after playing more than half of the season still doesn’t feel like he’s the man to lead us into the Champions League.

The idea that the new coach Enzo Maresca is going to specifically need a keeper who is willing to play really high up and use the ball in small spaces also gives more weight to the idea that a player could come in – Giorgio Mamardashvili was linked today.

Defence

Thiago Silva has left and Tosin Adarabioyo has come in on a free transfer. We’ve got two left backs and two right backs and a good group of central defenders, so in a way this should be the most settled area. But there are always suspicions we want to upgrade on the left, with Ben Chilwell always injured and Marc Cucurella inconsistent at the best of times.

There also continue to be rumours about Trevoh Chalobah leaving, and that would mean a new central defender arriving to replace him.

Midfield

Again, after so much money spent there should be no need to improve here -but there are major question marks about the balance of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo as a pair, and Conor Gallagher’s future remains uncertain.

Players like Lesley Ugochukwu and Romeo Lavia are such question marks after missing the majority of last season. Will they plug the more defensive holes in midfield? We just don’t know yet.

Attack

The links to strikers are endless, and there is certainly space for a backup for Nicolas Jackson. The fact that the deal for Michael Olise came so close before collapsing shows there’s still some intent to sign another winger too.
