Ross Barkley put in a superb performance for England against Spain on Monday night – and Chelsea fans on Twitter went mental.
Barkley signed for Chelsea back in January for what the BBC reported to be a £15M fee. That’s a bargain.
Maurizio Sarri looks to be bringing the best out of him in that third midfield position, which was previously occupied by Marek Hamsik at Napoli. If he can replicate the Slovak’s success under Sarri, we’ll be laughing.
His performance against Spain on Monday suggested he has a real chance of doing so. The 24-year-old was both the driving force and main creative outlet of the Three Lions’ midfield. Chelsea fans were incredibly impressed with what they saw.
Ross Barkley getting in on the champagne England football! Atta boy, Ross.

Sarri has done wonders with Ross Barkley so far, he looks like a complete new player.
The best part is that he’s only 24 and still could improve alot. #CFC pic.twitter.com/nTQps0zif5

Barkley wasn’t first choice when he signed or this season after Kovacic arrived.
Instead of moaning, whining & threatening to leave, he showed up for training first, left last, shut up & worked hard. He still is.
A lot of our youth players would do well to follow his example.
