UCL Quarter Finals UCL Quarter Finals

Who will Chelsea face in the UCL quarter-finals & semi-finals?

The Blues’ true test of grit and determination will begin with the commencement of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final stages. Tuchel’s men got the better of Diego Simeone’s after comfortably dispatching the Spanish league leaders over the course of two legs.

The 3-0 aggregate win put Chelsea into the continental Championship’s last eight stage for the first time in seven years. The last time the Blues entered the quarter-finals in the 2013/14 season, they won 3-3 on aggregate against Tuchel’s former team, Paris Saint-Germain.

Going further, Jose Mourinho’s men were ousted by none other than Diego Simeone’s gritty Atletico side. The Spanish giants went on to win 3-1 at Stamford Bridge after playing out a stalemate at Vicente Calderon.

The draw for this season’s quarter-finals & semi-finals will take place at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday, 19 March, at 11am GMT.

Now, without any country restrictions or seedings, Chelsea could face any of Europe’s seven other top teams. The full list of possible opponents is below:

Real Madrid (ES)

Porto (PT)

Paris Saint-Germain (FR)

Manchester City (GB)

Liverpool (GB)

Bayern Munich (DE)

Borussia Dortmund (DE)

Any of the seven clubs will prove to be a tough task to handle for Tuchel’s men, who are yet to experience defeat since the German took over.

But, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich & Manchester City could be touted as Chelsea’s most difficult prospective opponents going into the quarter-finals.
