Trevoh Chalobah Trevoh Chalobah

Chelsea loanee Trevoh Chalobah quietly made a name for himself in France high on the stats charts

Out of all the names of Chelsea loanees and youngsters coming up through the ranks, one who is not often mentioned or hyped up is Trevoh Chalobah, the brother of former Blue, Nathaniel.

The latter didn’t make it at Chelsea unfortunately, but there was always this belief that Trevoh had that bit more about him and he could make it at the club.

So why is he hardly in anyone’s discussions about what happens to him next season? Because with Thomas Tuchel looking for a defensive midfielder who can slot in to centre back as well, then in that sense Trevoh is your guy.

He has had a very impressive season on loan at Lorient in France, and he has been quietly making a name for himself in European football.

Not only has he been performing at high quality for the team, he has made a couple of the U21 Sofa Score stat charts for the season, based on Europe’s top 5 leagues.

Most interceptions made p/90 – Chalobah came in second place with 2.77.

Highest dribbling success rate – Chalobah came in third place with 73.1%.

This is pretty impressive to make these charts when you think of some of the big names he was up against.

Chalobah certainly has the potential to make it at Chelsea, and I am wondering whether Tuchel might want to take a look at him when he returns to Chelsea this month and give him some pre-season to show what he can do.

It’s certainly an interesting situation, but in reality I can only really see him going back out on loan again with a contract until 2023 for the 21-year old.
