Chelsea are 1-0 down to Everton at half time at Goodison Park, and almost all their chances are coming from crosses.
The Blues are getting the ball out wide and swinging it in again, but they’ve yet to draw a save from Jordan Pickford with the chances they’ve generated.
With no fit wingers, it’s full backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell who are tasked with delivering crosses from wide areas. The team have been able to work them into good positions, and they’ve hit some nice crosses, but so far Olivier Giroud and the other players attacking the ball haven’t been able to make the most of them.
If the scoreline stays as it is, we will probably see Tammy Abraham introduced in the second half to try and increase our presence in the box. At the moment, with the home side dominating the middle of the pitch, taking advantage of the spaces out wide looks our best route to victory.
But without aerial threat in the middle, all those crosses will come to nothing.
