Chelsea face Arsenal on Sunday in this season’s Community Shield.
The Community Shield, in theory, is a friendly, hence the availability of Victor Moses, who is currently serving a one-match ban for the red card he received in the FA Cup final.
However, it is a great chance for any title-challengers to lay down a marker and build momentum ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign.
Antonio Conte, unfortunately, does not have a fully fit group of players to choose from – far from it. Tiemoue Bakayoko and Eden Hazard were left out of the Blues’ pre-season tour, and it remains to be seen whether they will be fit to feature on Sunday.
Pedro, on the other hand, was withdrawn early on in Chelsea’s first pre-season fixture, coincidentally against Arsenal, after a nasty collison with David Ospina, and has not played since. However, he was involved in full first-team training with the squad this week.
Moses will serve a one-match suspension on the opening day of the Premier League against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, but is available for selection at Wembley.
Here’s how we expect Chelsea to lineup on Sunday:
GK: Thibaut Courtois
RCB: Cesar Azpilicueta
CB: David Luiz
LCB: Gary Cahill
RWB: Victor Moses
CM: Cesc Fabregas
CM: N’Golo Kante
LWB: Marcos Alonso
RW: Pedro
LW: Willian
ST: Michy Batshuayi
