If you follow Chelsea’s players on social media, and I’m pretty sure that everyone and their Gran’s do these days, quite literally, then you will notice just how brilliant the overall squad morale is right now.
You can say that a lot of this is just young lads and groups of mates having banter, and of course that is true as such. But take the images of them all hugging, messing around, laughing, and generally having the time of their lives, and add to it the performances from the ‘fringe players’ on Wednesday night, and I think it is safe to assume that the Chelsea players morale right now is at an all-time high.

The good results and great form makes a difference of course, but you cannot help but feel the buzz coming out of the Chelsea camp right now and there is a real feel that they are all in this together.
Of course there will be the exceptions of the odd player or two who simply cannot get a look in right now, such as your Marcos Alonso’s and you Fikayo Tomori’s. But generally, this is a happy team, all out their working and being happy for each other whenever they do something good, and all putting the team first.
There are no moans from your Olivier Giroud’s or Jorginho’s when they aren’t playing every game, nope, only genuine happiness watching their team mates ahead of them get the results.
Things could be a lot different if results started going against them and frustrations and blame started creeping in, and Lampard has a major task on his hands keeping everyone happy. But it can be done with plenty of rotation, and Lampard made it clear with the 4-0 win over Sevilla this week that he is more than prepared to switch an entire starting eleven pretty much in order to rest players and give players a chance to play.
Having this happy squad will go a VERY long way for Chelsea managing to win any silverware this season, because they will need every single one of those players whether it is supporting the guys in training and on the pitch, or stepping up when called upon to do a job on the pitch themselves, it is pinnacle that we keep the morale high.
