It really says something when in this current turmoil we are in, that so many pundits and former players are predicting a brighter future for Chelsea.
And I might not agree with everything Frank Lampard has been saying lately or doing on the pitch, but he’s right with this, Chelsea WILL be back!
We are where we are right now and we cannot change it. We are there for a number of reasons from top to bottom, and blame can be pointed towards the previous ownership, the current ownership, the players, the managers, and the staff collectively. We are where we are for many reasons. But where we are right now is very unprecedented and wasn’t expected. We will not be staying where we are, I have no doubts about it.
I know many don’t think we will, but I genuinely see an upwards trajectory for our situation from next season. If we get it right by getting Mauricio Pochettino over the line and we allow him to manage and run this team, then we will start to see more positivity in our performances and then in our results.
It is still going to take time, and Pochettino can not work miracles, but I think we will see enough improvements next season to give us all much more hope and allow us to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Pochettino can build something great with this squad, and I think he could really get us playing some good football and have us believing again. This squad has some top talent in it, we just need to get a tune out of them now.

We know we need to be patient and we know that big projects like this with so many huge changes will always take time. We have been trying to do it all very quick and it has backfired this season, putting us all in the miserable place we are in now. Mistakes have been made, we all know it.
But we have to now look forward, get Pochettino in the door because he is literally perfect for where we are right now, get the summer recruitment spot on, and we can really start to look up from next season, I genuinely believe that.
Confidence is massive in football and we have zero confidence collectively across the whole club right now and you can see that energy is channeling through the whole club. Once we start to get some wins and start to perform better, confidence will rise and things will start clicking a bit more.
Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of work to still be done, mainly the gutting of the squad this summer and moving on some more ‘bad eggs’. But once these tasks start getting ticked off, I really feel positive still for the future.
But don’t take my opinion as gospel, let’s have a look at the views of some who have actually played the game to a very good standard.
Glen Johnson:
“I don’t agree with Ralf Rangnick at all about Christopher Nkunku coming to Chelsea too early. It is not great at the moment but Chelsea are still Chelsea. A fantastic football club with fantastic players, there is just a lot of change going on at the moment.
There is no dust that needs to settle. Nkunku is certainly not going to an in-form Chelsea at the slightest, but once a manager and the owners settle in at the club, Chelsea will be alright. They are not a million miles away at all.”
Jurgen Klopp:
“Chelsea will be fine next year and be incredibly strong.”
Gary Neville:
“I think Chelsea next year could really cause a surprise, just by Pochettino bringing the club together because he will. He’s likeable and the players will respect him enormously.
I think he will do a very, very good job next season and he will cover a lot of the stuff that’s going on behind the scenes. Those players are perfect for Mauricio Pochettino. Talented, young but just needing direction.”
Mikel Arteta:
“Next season they [Chelsea] may get 100 points – we don’t know. With all that exceptional talent, if they make that work they can do anything because they have the players, the infrastructure, and the history to do it.”
Nemanja Matic:
“Chelsea did a great job by signing so many talented players, but they now need to make some balance between young and experienced players. Players always expect to play, that’s the problem. They need to adapt and you also need experienced players to help them.
For the next season I expect Chelsea to be much better. Mauricio Pochettino is a great manager, he showed that at Tottenham that he can play some great football and also at PSG. He has experience and is very professional and very honest.”
Ian Wright:
“Can you imagine, if Pochettino went to Chelsea, with the young players he has got and the fact that he is so good with that kind of player?
The way he can manage that situation, with young players and with Harry Kane. That’s scary. That could be scary for someone.”
Chelsea FC, get Poch DONE!
