It was officially confirmed today that Chelsea legend John Terry will be returning to the club in the new year to take up a role within the Blues youth academy.
This is already one of the best and well-known academies in world football, but adding Terry to the mix is only going to springboard it’s success even more and just emphasises the ambitions the club collectively have for the youth setup.
It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!
Terry is taking up a coaching and development role and he is expected to be involved in general operations as well including youth player contracts, and being a sort of liaison between the senior and youth teams.
I think it is a very challenging role for Terry to take himself and will also springboard his managerial career, which he clearly wants to be at Chelsea for, and I think he will learn so much from some great coaches in a great setup here.
But most of all it will be an exciting announcement for all our youth players currently dreaming of getting to where Terry did in his career and graduating into the senior team at Chelsea and then having a long and successful career here.
Imagine Terry in and amongst with these lads every single day telling them how to make it, giving them that motivation needed, and most of all convincing them to sign new deals so we try and avoid situations like Tino Livramento again.
Not only will he be a fantastic coach for them but he will be an amazing mentor as well, someone they can go to for first-hand experience advice and someone who will try and be as neutral as possible.
This is a great move from the club, who love to bring back Chelsea legends into the setup to create that family feel to it. It will be a massive boost for all involved in the academy and it will only help the future of Chelsea Football Club.
