Chelsea had a fantastic summer transfer window, and they spent some big cash as a result.
This means that in the January transfer window starting in a couple of weeks time, Chelsea will be looking to sell and loan players as priority.

Selling will be tough due to the financial breakdown as a result of the global pandemic, but there are a few players looking likely to go out on loan in January at least.
I believe Fikayo Tomori will be loaned out, that is the most likely deal to happen. As well as that I expect Marcos Alonso and Kepa Arrizabalaga could both go out on loan this winter.
Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen I think will be selling deals for the summer, unless it is a sign a new contract and loan with an option to buy deal.
Other than that, Olivier Giroud’s situation is still dependent on his game time up until the end of January, and Jorginho could also go but only in the summer I feel.
What about arrivals?
Well, as I said, Chelsea need to free up space in the squad first, and bring in more funds. So main target Declan Rice is possible in January, but much more likely a move for the summer.
Other than that, Chelsea may well look to bring in another winger purely due to the fact that they only have two out and out wingers in the squad right now. Hakim Ziyech prefers to play central, even though he can also be classed as a Chelsea winger and will be playing there mostly, so three if you include him.
But Chelsea could look at bringing in a Samuel Chukwueze or a Leon Bailey in January should Lampard feel they need the extra pure winger in his squad.
Both players have been scouted by Chelsea in recent years.
Chelsea might look at bringing in a winger who can also play as a striker, if Giroud decides that he does need to leave in January.
David Alaba is a player they could move in for in January, to sign on a free in the summer. There have been decent sources linking Chelsea to this move.
Of course this is not saying that we won’t see any major surprises happen in the window, as we know, ANYTHING can happen in this business.
