Opinion: Moving Hakim Ziyech in January and replacing him would be a very wise move

Things have just not worked out for Hakim Ziyech at Chelsea since his arrival from Ajax a couple of seasons ago.

He has struggled with a few injuries and other things that have set him back, but the bottom line for me is he just doesn’t seem to be suited to Premier League football; he struggles with the pace, intensity, and physicality of the league.

For me it looks like his confidence is low as well, which is why I am totally for a move away for him in January, possibly on loan as it will be tough to get a good desired fee in the winter window.

That way Chelsea would then be left open to try and make their own temporary move to bring in a winger, and for me that would be Eden Hazard on loan. There is also a chance that Raheem Sterling might be available so I’d be looking at that as well even if it looks like he will only go abroad we should at least try.

Hazard for me is a no brainer, especially on a low-risk loan move. It could be good for all parties, and it will especially be good for Romelu Lukaku. Chelsea would have nothing to lose with that.

And with Ziyech, the door could remain open for him for now by only sending him on loan, but it will also help Chelsea increase his value for a potential sale in the summer, because I just do not believe he will make it in the Premier League now.

Chelsea could then start looking towards a long-term Ziyech replacement and a new out and out winger target, someone like Leroy Sane who could soon become available.

But I think this is an area we could soon be addressing, so a little tweak and forward planning for this in January by moving out Ziyech will be a very wise move.
