Opinion: Two Haaland alternatives Chelsea could look at if they need to

I’ll begin this by stating that despite the fresh report yesterday claiming that Erling Haaland has said he doesn’t want to join Chelsea, take that with a pinch of salt.

I believe Chelsea are still in the running, as are many teams. But as with all these reports and speculation, I would never encourage anyone to always believe them 100% and always look at them with a pinch of salt.

Could Tammy Abraham leave Chelsea this summer? With clubs circling, find out the latest here.

We WILL hear a lot more about this saga yet, and Chelsea are far from out of it.

However, Chelsea will have alternatives lined up as they search for a top striker, and here are two I would like to see on the list.

Romelu Lukaku

Another player we sold and we now want to buy back? Yes, absolutely, and I’d be here for it.

The now 27-year old is the perfect all round and ready made striker that we need right now. He brings it all to the table, goals, strength, top mentality, quality, pace, and can pretty much do it all. He is a real old-fashioned number nine and I believe this is what the club are looking for.

Which brings me to my next option behind Romelu…

Andea Belotti

He’s been linked with Chelsea before and people tend to go hot and cold on him in terms of rating him.

But I truly think he is a beast with the perfect mentality that we need to lead our line.

Like Lukaku, he is a typical old-fashioned number nine, something we really need.

Also 27-years old, the Italian international is averaging a goal every other game in Serie A for Torino this season and he is in some good form.

I’d certainly like to see him as an option for Chelsea IF Haaland or Lukaku were not achievable.
