I wouldn’t say it would be the be all and end all when looking at the different potential bidders to by Chelsea and the movements they will be making, but for me, staying at Stamford Bridge is up there as one of the priorities.
The stadium needs redeveloping, I do not doubt that. We need to increase the capacity to be able to bring in more revenue and continue competing with the top clubs in the world.
But we do not want to A) move and build a new stadium, or B) move away from Stamford Bridge for a few years whilst Stamford Bridge is built up.
We might not have to do either of these if today’s report from The Telegraph is to be believed. Because they claim that two bidders, Todd Boehly’s consortium, and the consortium led by Sir Martin Broughton, have proposed their stadium redevelopment plans to involve staying at Stamford Bridge and building up as we go, rather than temporarily relocating to Wembley to play our home matches, like Spurs had to do recently.

This for me, is a massive bonus and makes those two consortiums, or any consortium planning to do the same, more favourable. I think it’s so important staying at The Bridge. It is our home, it is closer for many match-goers, and moving away from it would just not sit right with me, nor would it with many other fans.
I think this is positive news today from two of the final four shortlisted groups to buy our club, and I don’t even believe that this is something you can just say for PR either. I feel they will have to fully mean this pledge.
